Khemjira Klongsanun, a sports enthusiast from Bangkok, Thailand, has been participating in various marathons, including professional ones, in recent years. Khemjira has always had a competitive spirit, which has served as a motivation for her. However, for Khemjira, nothing is more meaningful than a gesture from the king. She demonstrated that compassion triumphs over competition when she ran in a local marathon.
While running the 26-mile marathon through the streets of Bangkok, Khemjira encountered something that touched her heart on the side of the road. It had been less than seven kilometers since she started the race when she stumbled upon a lone puppy. Since she couldn’t find the puppy’s mother, Khemjira knew she couldn’t leave the animal behind. It was only a matter of time before she and her new companion resumed their journey. The kind-hearted mother chose to carry the adorable dog for the remaining 19 kilometers of the race, holding the animal in her arms. She didn’t abandon the puppy on the side of the road.
After finishing the race, Khemjira returned to the spot where she found the cute puppy to see if there were any signs of the animal’s mother or other caregivers in the area. When Khemjira arrived, it was clear that the puppy was alone. It was at this point that Khemjira realized that she not only won the competition, but she also gained a friend for life.
Finally, Khemjira returned the dog to its owner’s home. For now, the two of them are inseparable. The dog, affectionately known as Nom Chom by her friends, has become a beloved part of Khemjira’s life.
