The story of this boy has been updated over and over again by his parents on Facebook. He was about 2 years old when he was first told he had cancer. But he managed to get through it. David’s family said that their dog “knew when he relapsed” after his second time of getting high.
The boy’s mother said, “Our dog Chai started acting up.” He was keeping an eye on David’s door! Every time I walked by, he would growl at me. Chai never left his side!”
David did beat cancer in the end. But this family had no idea what kind of journey they were in for. “Chai was acting up again,” David’s mother said. I told myself that it was all in my head. It wasn’t, though. It had come back. Chai knew!”
After a long time, a new treatment came out in which the T-Cells were taken out of his body. This made the T-Cells stronger so they could fight off the cancer cells. It did work!
After this T-Cell Adventure, David got to go on a Make-A-Wish trip to Finland. David’s stomach hurt while he was in Finland. His family thought that something he ate made him sick.
When they got home, they found out it was, you guessed it, cancer. He once again won.
Young David had a seizure while his sister and father were out of town. He was taken to the hospital right away. He had a brain tumor, which caused him to lose control of his right side and the ability to speak. In spite of all the odds, he was able to talk and walk again.
He had once again won.
David’s family knew that Chai had relapsed when he started acting up again. They found out that he needed a bone marrow transplant in Seattle, Washington. That same year, COVID-19 hit the United States, which made their trip very different. The family ended up staying for eight months, even though they had only planned to stay for one to five months. He got rid of cancer, and he will always be grateful to the woman who gave him bone marrow. He still doesn’t know who it was, but he hopes to find out soon.
David is still alive and well and lives with his family and his dogs, including Chai.
